Sunrise Freedom Insurance

Insurance options are charged on top of any quoted daily rate for the hire vehicle. Choose the one that works best for you:

• Standard Insurance
  $4000 Excess (over 25 years) or $5000 Excess (21-25 years)
  $0/day

• Zero Excess
  $0 Excess
  $35/day (over 25 years) capped at $700 or $40/day (21-25 years) capped at $800
  

  Road user charges are additional to insurance and charged at the end of your hire.

Sunrise Freedom Inclusions

These are included with every hire - regardless of your chosen insurance option.

• Standard insurance ($4000 Excess/Bond).

• Quality linen, crockery, kitchen equipment & full gas bottle.

• Camping tables/chairs. Car seat if required. GPS.

• Good and Services Tax (GST).

• Transfers free-of-charge from the airport to your vehicle.

Sunrise Freedom Extras

Everyone’s hire is unique and so these are charged in addition:

Road User Charges (RUCs)

Anyone using New Zealand’s roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies when they buy fuel. Others, including drivers of diesel vehicles, pay through Road User Charges (RUC). You can read more about this on the New Zealand government's NZTA website. All Sunrise vehicles use diesel and therefore RUC apply.

We charge $300 at the start of your hire to cover up to 4000km of RUC. Anything over 4000km, we will charge out at the current govt rates. If you travel under 4000km, we will refund the difference back to you.

Your Road User Charges will be calculated at the end of your hire from your final odometer reading.

We will confirm your final odometer reading and total kilometres travelled when you return your vehicle.

Sunrise Rates:

• Based on current government rates, usually around $8 per 100km.
