Insurance options are charged on top of any quoted daily rate for the hire vehicle. Choose the one that works best for you:

These are included with every hire - regardless of your chosen insurance option.

• Transfers free-of-charge from the airport and airport hotels to your vehicle.

McRent Extras

Everyone’s hire is unique and so these are charged in addition:

• Carseat - $50, Booster seat $30.

• GPS - $7 / day (max of $210).

• Unlimited Wi-Fi - $10 per day.

• Camping table - $27 per hire.

• Camping chairs - $19 per person.

• Snow chains - $70.

• Fees will also apply on drop off if the diesel or LPG gas bottle are empty, the campervan is not tidy and waste has not been emptied.

Road User Charges (RUCs)

Anyone using New Zealand’s roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies when they buy fuel. Others, including drivers of diesel vehicles, pay through Road User Charges (RUC). You can read more about this on the New Zealand government's NZTA website. All McRent vehicles use diesel and therefore RUC apply.

We do not include these Road User Charges (RUC) in the daily hire rate. This means you will only pay for the kilometres you travel and we can offer you our lowest hire fee.

Your Road User Charges will be calculated at the end of your hire from your final odometer reading.

In our commitment to the environment all of our diesel vehicles also use AdBlue to reduce harmful emissions. There is a fee per km charged at the end of your hire.

We will confirm your final odometer reading and total kilometres travelled when you return your vehicle, and will invoice you for the RUC fee once your hire is complete.

McRent Rates:

• $0.09/km RUC

• $0.02/km AdBlue

If you have selected the All Inclusive, or Extra Cover insurance option, the Road User Charges are included in your insurance package.
